The Tigers are currently riding the nation?s best win streak with 16 consecutive wins after a 63-14 victory over Idaho last week.
Defense and a powerful running game have been LSU staples under head coach Les Miles, and the Tiger?s showed both strengths against Idaho, with running backs Kenny Hilliard and Jeremy Hill combining for 177 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
Quarterback Zach Mettenberger has a crisp completion percentage of 72.7 this season, along with 609 yards and four touchdowns for LSU, giving them a solid and balanced offense.
Auburn is now in their second season removed from the magical 2010 championship campaign led by quarterback Cam Newton, and have struggled mightily this season. Auburn gave up a 14-point lead against Lousiana-Monroe last week, but stymied the Warhawks on their sole overtime drive for a 31-28 win.
Auburn committed two turnovers against Louisiana-Monroe, including one fourth quarter interception by quarterback Kiehl Frazier, and struggled to contain Warhawks quarterback Kolton Browning who scored four touchdowns.
Frazier did throw one touchdown and caught another, finishing 10-for-18 for 110 yards passing.
Running back Onterio McCalebb rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, but may struggle against an LSU defense that hasn?t allowed more than 76 rushing yards in a game this season.
Last season LSU squashed Auburn 45-10 at home, which extended a five-game losing streak against ranked opponents for Auburn.
Betting Odds: LSU is favored by 20 points; Over/Under: 49 points
Prediction: ?LSU is clearly improving with every game compared to Auburn, who is just getting by and tumbling to the bottom of the SEC. LSU will run over Auburn and claim their 17th straight win.
Predicted Score: LSU 41, Auburn 10
