Auto insurance policies cover more than your car. It protects you from liability if others are harmed by your car. It covers all kinds of car expenses due to loss or damage. As soon as you receive your auto insurance policy, double check to make sure you are covered for everything you expect to be. This article will guide you toward getting auto insurance that?s right for you.

Conduct a bit of research in order to discover ways to trim your insurance premium costs. Most can give a break to those who drive less than 7,500 miles per year. You may also secure lower premiums by taking mass transit to your workplace. Try riding with coworkers if you cannot use public transportation.

The right insurance can save one a great amount of money if they ever get in a car crash or have any other kind of accident happen. The policyholder is expected to pay a portion of the claim, called a deductible. Any claims over and above the deductible will be paid by the insurer.

TIP! People think that the cost of insurance always goes down after people turn 25, but this is not always the case. The fact is that insurance rates actually drop as soon as a driver turns eighteen if he or she is a safe driver.

Insurance Companies

Of course, you will pay more due to your record, but not all insurance companies calculate premiums the same way. Certain insurance companies are willing to help drivers that have a less-than-perfect driving record.

Insurance rates vary depending on where you reside; if you are considering a move, look into insurance rates. The price of insurance will vary depending on where you are.

TIP! Alert the authorities whenever you?re in an automobile accident. The police can gather information without letting emotions get in the way, and they can record an unbiased account of the accident that could help you later.

Generally, the largest percentage of accidents happen mid-day by elderly drivers. Your age can affect your auto insurance rates as well as the ability to purchase a policy.

Theft Rate

What kind of car you drive matters when you are choosing an insurance policy. Typically, a slightly older car or truck will require fewer coverage fees due to its lower value in the resale market. You may also want to research the vehicle?s theft rate. Theft rate doesn?t rely only on the age of your vehicle. If the theft rate on your vehicle is high then you should look into comprehensive coverage on your insurance.

TIP! Keep your annual mileage figures as low as you possibly can. If lowering the amount of driving you do isn?t feasible, an alternative is to buy an inexpensive second vehicle.

If you have car insurance, you should have a good driving record. Car accidents are the number one thing to raise your insurance rates. Do what you can to avoid accidents. Drive carefully and avoid taking roads you are not comfortable driving on. If you have poor night vision, avoid driving at night.

It is prudent to shop around when you are looking for car insurance, as this is a fiercely competitive industry. Rates vary wildly from one company to the next. Get a new quote at least once per year to ensure that your are paying the least amount of money for the best insurance coverage. You should be sure that you are getting the right coverage when researching insurance companies.

Insurance Premiums

TIP! Do not try to keep a lid on your premiums by juggling cars and family members. You will get a lower premium if you only have one name on each car.

If you are a safe and cautious driver, you can maintain lower insurance premiums. You can qualify for some good driver discounts if you go a long time without a ticket or accident. Discounts like these start out great, and often have a scale system that raises the discount every successive accident-free year. This will also prevent a rise in your insurance premiums.

It is important to obtain an insurance policy that protects you against uninsured drivers. Take this into consideration, because it can impact the cost of your premium. This way, you are protected in the event that an uninsured driver damages your car.

In general, large car insurance providers will offer sizable discounts to families in which every driver is insured by the same company. Insuring all your cars under the same company can save you lots of money.

TIP! Married men under age 25 are more likely to get a break on their policy than single men. Some have reported savings of nearly forty percent upon becoming husband and wife.

Remove other drivers from your policy if you can. Extra drivers mean extra risk, so removing drivers is one way to reduce a premium.

Now that you have learned a bit more about auto insurance, use the skills you have learned to examine your existing policy. You might find places you need to add coverage, and most likely some where you will be able to save some

Vibease: The Long-Distance Relationship You Always Wanted

vibrator-mediumWe've seen quite a few startups try to disrupt relationships lately. There's Dejamor, which sends you a box of romance each month, Boink Box, which sends you a box of sex toys, and I seem to remember a somewhat embarrassing interview with OhMiBod at CES. And today, yet another sexy startup joins the space. It's called Vibease, and it's a "massager" as they say, that hooks up to your smartphone via Bluetooth.

Former Special Forces soldiers set up corporate team-building away ...

While protecting their country in some of the most hostile environments in the world, you could forgive members of the Special Forces for thinking about something else.

Some might talk of football or dream of women ? but Ben Wansbrough-Jones thought up a business.

He is part of a team of 11 ? five are former members of the Special Forces ? who put their military experience to use to create Blackdown UK, which offers adrenaline-fuelled team-building exercises and counts the likes of British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) among its customers.

Mr Wansbrough-Jones, who runs the company in the Warwickshire countryside, said he was keen to set up a business to utilise military skills that all too often go to waste.

?We were in a far-flung place of the world and part of what pushes you on are the dreams of what you are going to do when you get back,? he said.

?I thought through my ideas overseas and when I got back Phil Harvey, a soldier and a good friend I met during training, was leaving the forces and struggling to find work, so I was looking for a way I could help get him into some kind of a career.

?You have got a bright guy who is charismatic, but in reality people come back from roles that require really specialist training from the military which ceases to be redeployed.

?People love to hear about stories but when it comes to getting into work it all goes quiet. So that is where our journey began.?

Mr Wansbrough-Jones left the forces in February 2010, followed by Mr Harvey who, two years on, now looks after Blackdown UK?s client portfolio.

Mr Wansbrough-Jones went into business consultancy before a client meeting eventually led to the inception of Blackdown.

?The first contract I got was for BSkyB and one of their guys suggested team-building,? he explained.

?We wanted to use what we had learned and be able to apply it in a totally new way in the business environment. I have been very lucky to work with the group ? the guys are amazing people and I wanted to help them.?

Now, the self-funded business, based in Kenilworth, is helping other companies strengthen their teams through orienteering, survival skills, pistol-shooting and driving off-road vehicles.

The firm recently started a new campaign called Times Are Tough, to encourage organisations to reward their staff through team-building as an alternative to financial incentives, and to boost morale despite the recession.

Blackdown UK sets teams tailored tasks to benefit their needs, from physical challenges to survival tasks which get the heart pumping.

But Mr Wansbrough-Jones said there was far more to the business than just the experience.

He said: ?The delivery is one part but beforehand we have to find out what a company is trying to achieve and what their problems are.

Polls open in Angola's third elections since 1975

Polls opened Friday in Angola's third election in 37 years, widely expected to return long-ruling President Jose Eduardo dos Santos to power in the oil-rich nation despite a revitalised opposition movement.

From 7:00 am (0600 GMT) voters headed to more than 10,000 schools and colleges across the southern African country to cast ballots for parliamentarians, with the leader of the winning party set to become president.

The People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), in power since independence from Portugal in 1975, is expected to sweep to victory which would hand Dos Santos, Africa's second-longest ruling leader, another five years in office.

Voting got off to a slow start. About 30 people lined up to cast ballots at a technical college in Boa Vista, a seaside slum next to Luanda's port where shack dwellings are collapsing down the hillside.

"I came here to vote because I want to see some change in our country," said jobless Emmanuel Mpulenga, 23.

During his 33 years in power, Dos Santos has centralised power in the presidency, dominating Angolan politics and exerting a strong role in business in Africa's number two oil producer.

His family, notably his daughter Isabel, has built an international business empire, but has also poured billions of dollars into rebuilding the country after 41 years of armed conflict -- 14 years of liberation struggle and 27 years of civil war.

The main opposition Union for the Total Independence of Angola (Unita) battled the government until its feared leader Jonas Savimbi was killed by the army in 2002.

As an opposition party, Unita has struggled to find a base, taking only 10 percent of the vote in 2008 elections. Party leader Isaias Samakuva has campaigned mainly by calling for transparency and denouncing alleged flaws in the voter roll of 9.7 million people.

On the eve of the polls he tried in vain to hold talks with Dos Santos over his concerns of irregularities but the authorities insisted the poll was on track.

The traditional rivals now face a new threat in Casa, created in April by a former Unita official Abel Chivukuvuku who joined forces with a high profile MPLA defector, civil society and smaller opposition groups.

He has actively courted Angola's young voters, promising better jobs and living conditions for a nation where 55 percent of the population lives in abject poverty.

Voter Abel Franscico Sibalanga, who was the first in the queue, said he was at the polling station two hours before it was due to open.

"I came here early because voting is important for our country," he said.

Voting will close 11 hours later, with results expected to start coming in over the weekend. A final result could take around five days.

The National Electoral Commission said more than 97,000 observers from the nine parties contesting Friday's general elections had been accredited to watch over the vote.

Party observers were the first to cast ballots to allow them to watch the vote.

Mitt Romney: 'The time has come to turn the page'

(Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)

TAMPA?Mitt Romney accepted the Republican presidential nomination by making an appeal to Americans disappointed in President Barack Obama's tenure in the White House, arguing he can usher in the change Obama promised in 2008 but has failed to deliver.

"Tonight I'd ask a simple question: If you felt that excitement when you voted for Barack Obama, shouldn't you feel that way now that he's President Obama?" Romney said. "You know there's something wrong with the kind of job he's done as president when the best feeling you had, was the day you voted for him."

He said Americans "deserved" the "hope and change" that Obama had promised, but because he has failed to keep his promises, he doesn't deserve a second term.

"This president can ask us to be patient. This president can tell us it was someone else's fault. This president can tell us that the next four years he'll get it right," Romney said. "But this president cannot tell us that you are better off today than when he took office. America has been patient. Americans have supported this president in good faith. But today, the time has come to turn the page."

Romney told voters it's time to "put the disappointments of the last four years behind us" and "forget about what might have been and look ahead to what can be."

"Many Americans have given up on this president but they haven't ever thought about giving up. Not on themselves. Not on each other. And not on America," Romney said. "What is needed in our country today is not complicated or profound. It doesn't take a special government commission to tell us what America needs. What America needs is jobs. Lots of jobs."

Romney's speech was a bookend to speeches he's given in the 18 months since he launched his second bid for the presidency. But unlike other remarks, Romney spoke at length about his life and his family?telling voters about the "unconditional love" he received from his parents and has tried to pass on to his own kids and grand kids.

"All the laws and legislation in the world will never heal this world like the loving hearts and arms of mothers and fathers," Romney said. "If every child could drift to sleep feeling wrapped in the love of their family--and God's love--this world would be a far more gentle and better place."

Romney's remarks were aimed at humanizing him with voters, who have been openly skeptical of his candidacy. Before he took the stage, aides sought to tell a different story about Romney by having those who know him speak. Friends of the candidate spoke about his Mormon faith and others, including the founder of Staples--the office supply chain that was started with seed money from Bain Capital, a firm Romney founded--attested to his time as a venture capitalist.

But Romney's speech was somewhat overshadowed by a rambling appearance by the actor and director Clint Eastwood, who ad-libbed a skit featuring him speaking to an invisible Obama on the stage. Romney aides had expected Eastwood, who endorsed the candidate last month, to make a short 5-minute speech; they looked anxious as the Hollywood actor's remarks extended past the 10-minute mark.

But Romney won the audience's attention a few minutes later, as he made an entrance from the back of the convention floor, walking through the delegates who excitedly shook his hand. On stage, a singer sang an acoustic version of "Born Free," the Kid Rock song that has become Romney's anthem.

In his speech, Romney repeated the argument he has made against an Obama second term?insisting the president has simply not turned things around. He repeatedly emphasized that his focus would be on creating jobs?reiterating that adding employment hasn't been Obama's focus.

"President Obama promised to slow the rise of the oceans and to heal the planet," Romney said, a line that prompted laughter on the RNC floor. "My promise is to help you and your family."

If elected, Romney vowed to "unleash an economy that will put Americans back to work" and restore "the America we want for our children."

"That future is our destiny. That future is out there. It is waiting for us. Our children deserve it, our nation depends upon it, the peace and freedom of the world require it. And with your help we will deliver it," Romney said. "Let us begin that future together tonight."
